Antibiotic Pipeline Revival: FDA Approves Cubist Pharmaceuticals' SIVEXTRO™ For MRSA, Other Serious Skin Infections

Sivextro (tedizolid phosphate) is the second such antibiotic to be approved in the last month following FDA's nod to dalbavancin (Dalvance; Durata) on May 23rd. Both drugs had been previously recommended for approval 14-0 by members of FDA's Anti-Infective Drugs Advisory Committee.
